My first Song...

alright. well this is the deal. i just got reason 4 running on my computer properly and ive been collaborating with Pasha a little to work on new material and take a stab at making some music like we have always wanted. I am not making dance music necassarily, rather im making music that i enjoy. Its a little house, a little hip hop and a little ambiental. and pash, well he is makn thos bangers!! Hot&Sweaty is more my dj/club stuff and T.B.S. (The Beautiful Struggle) is gonna be my more melodic/hip-hop/techno/house stuff i like. 

The first is T.B.S. Theme which is sampling the MLK speech that i talked about before which was BEYOND Vietnam. It is a beautiful speech and is which i got my name from.

and these are just demo's. the mixing is really shitty but you will get the point.

The Beautiful Struggle...

I will now go by the name T.B.S. aka The Beautiful Struggle when i'm producing music and will dj under the name Hot & Sweaty for now. I am both. It represents the 2 sides of matt. The deep an intellectual, artistic side and the party animal wild and crazy side. 

The name to me stands for a metaphor for life. It is something we all go through, Struggles. Yet life is such a beautiful thing and the struggles in life is what makes us who we are. The struggles are a part of life and you can not avoid them yet they are the things you learn from and grow from. To become stronger, better, smarter, faster. (lol i do love daft punk.)

The name came from the title of my favorite Talib Kweli album under the same name. It is the album that changed my life and opened my eyes to a different way of thinking and in my opinion was probably one of the greatest albums in the last ten years or so. Talib got the quote from the mighty MOS DEF which he stated, "Life is beautiful, life is a struggle. Life is a beautiful struggle."

He is also quoted in saying the quote comes from the great M.L.K. speech titled 'Beyond Vietnam'. 

"We must move past indecision to action. Now let us begin. Now let us rededicate ourselves to the long and bitter, but beautiful struggle for a new world. This is the calling of the sons of God, and our brothers wait eagerly for our response."

BLU strikes again!!! WTF!!!

This shit is fuckn nuts. not only has BLU blown my mind once but he does it again and takes it to the next level! the addition of color makes it that much better and the creativeness is really great this time around they are both working together to make this overall creative flow that works very well. damn
